Community & Fun Bringing the Community Together!
Dr. Odum believes in supporting her community and encourages her staff to as well. Family Eye Care donates monies to the Washington, Augusta, and Bartow Community Theatres, Bartow Historical Society, various charity golf tournaments, the Kaolin Festival, Rotary Club, and WACO, Brentwood, and Thomas Jefferson schools. FEC also offers free eye health screenings to local children through the school system.
Dr. Odum also believes in rewarding her staff with fun! Her love of life is contagious and is shared by her staff who are all hand picked by Dr. Odum for their warmth, personalities, and zest! And here we see them stomping grapes at Chateau Elan... the glory of it all...

Additionally, FEC provides eyewear and care for the Miss Georgia

“Great Teachers Make Even Greater Schools”
National Teacher Appreciation week is held the first week of May each year with National Teacher Day taking place on May 4, 2010. During this week, thousands of communities take time out to honor their local educators and acknowledge the contributions they make to their communities.
In today’s world, teachers work thankless jobs with little pay, little job security, and few supplies. Family Eye Care is organizing a drive to show our teachers that WE CARE.
We are selling raffle tickets the entire month of APRIL to benefit teachers. For $10, you will be entered in a drawing once a week for a year (52 weeks; starting May 10th) for $150 to be used in our Optical Boutique (may be used for sunglasses or glasses). We are limiting ticket sales to 1000 tickets. All monies raised will be used to purchase supplies for teachers to be delivered May 4th to WACO schools and Brentwood (FEC will NOT use ticket monies for the drawing; Dr. Odum is donating $150/week in optical certificates). You will have one month to use your certificate.
Don’t take teachers for granted one more day – seize this opportunity to honor them by providing classroom supplies!
If you are interested in helping us sell tickets (which we would greatly appreciate!) - PLEASE contact our office at 478.553.0007. If you want to buy a ticket (or more than one!), stop by the office starting April 1st.

“Great Teachers Make Even Greater Schools”
National Teacher Appreciation week is held the first week of May each year with National Teacher Day taking place on May 5, 2009. During this week, thousands of communities take time out to honor their local educators and acknowledge the contributions they make to their communities.
In today’s world, teachers work thankless jobs with little pay. If you ask a teacher how they would like to be thanked, they always say no balloons, flowers, or food – rather, they ask for classroom supplies --- that’s right – teachers want something for their students - not themselves. Each week the average teacher spends 20-40 dollars of their own money for paper, glue, pens, pencils, kleenex, hand sanitizer, etc. At this time of the school year, that amount grows as the beginning of the year supplies sent by parents are depleted.
Family Eye Care is organizing a community drive now through May 4th for school supplies. Items may be dropped off at their office (203 Medical Arts Place Ste 1). Monetary donations (to be used for supplies) are welcome and may be dropped off or mailed to Family Eye Care. All supplies will be delivered on May 5th to all WACO schools and Brentwood.
Don’t take teachers for granted one more day – seize this opportunity to honor them by providing classroom supplies!
Family Eye Care, Businesses, and Civic Clubs Raise Over $1800 for Teachers.

D. Warthen Bank, and Chamber of Commerce for donating over $1800 of needed school supplies to Washington County Schools and Brentwood. Thank you for enabling our great teachers to make great schools and in turn an even greater community.
